Introducing the IFAA Video Conference Coordinator (VCC) – Lynn Ellingworth (Ireland)

8 Jun 2021 | Newsletter

We asked Lynn to give us a brief background on her archery career leading up to her new role as our skilled VCC. She clearly has a passion for archery and what the IFAA stands for. We are extremely excited to have her as part of the team.

Social

Archery has, quite simply, changed my life. It has brought many new friends into my life and has given me the opportunity to see places around the world I would never have visited. It is a sporting activity that can last a lifetime. You do not have to be super-fit to participate. You do not have to give it up when you get ‘too old’ and it is a sport the whole family can do together!

Reward

EFAC 2013 (Hungary)

This was my first Field event. It was a great experience and a true delight to be the BHR Champion!

EBHC 2014 (France)

I won at my third bowhunter event with a 1-point lead! It was a dream come true against ace archers.

EFAC 2017 (Germany)

This event was a first-time trip as a solo archer. I was very proud of being ‘brave’ and also my silver medal.

WFAC 2018 (South Africa)

Another first in SA. My first World Field event, the furthest away from home ever … and a World title!

WFAC 2019 (Netherlands)

A little bit of pressure at this event as ‘reigning World Champion’ up against first class BHR ladies.

Volunteer

Since taking-up archery in 2009 I have been an active volunteer at club level.

My first role on the IFAF Committee was as the Ordinary Member (2010). In 2013 I was elected as the Secretary. Since then, I have served as PRO (2014-15) and IFAA Rep (2016-current).

Being IFAF’s IFAA Rep is an ideal job for me. I attend as many IFAA events as I can. I genuinely love all round formats! l have a real passion for what the IFAA embodies; open access to field archery for everyone. The ‘Family of Archers’ ethos is very special and is something we should be proud of.

In March, I was asked to take on the role of Video Conference Call (VCC) Coordinator. I am still learning (as you can see) but am enjoying ‘giving back’.

A great advocate for the sport. Someone I’m proud to count as a friend. She’s a brilliant worker and ambassador for Ireland and the sport of archery.

Well done Lynn. And continue to enjoy.
