Exec Ruling 01/2019

The position of a second nock locator on the bow string.

It is the opinion of the IFAA Executive that the nock locator has a single function: to indicate the correct position of the arrow nock on the bow string and prevent it from moving. It should not be used for any alternative function.

The ruling of the IFAA Executive for the use of a second nock locator is as follows:

When a second nock locator is used on the bow string, the distance between the two nock locators shall not exceed the distance that is required to draw the string without pinching the arrow when the bow is in full draw.

As norm the distance between the two nock locators should not exceed 12.5 mm (1/2 inch).

The arrow nock shall be placed between the two nock locators.

In the event that the two nock locators are placed against each other, the nock shall be placed directly below the lower nock locator.

This ruling will remain in force until the next World Council Meeting in 2020 when the Council will vote on this ruling.
