The archers of the region of Saalbach-Hinterglemm in Austria will be organising the EBHC 2016 in June this year.
This will be the biggest archery event ever hosted under the sanction of the IFAA with over 1700 archers who have already registered and more than 200 archers still on the waiting list.
Permission was granted to increase the number of attendants to 2000 archers.
Ten tournament ranges will be constructed; a large warm up range and a full practice range will also be available.
To deal with so many people over so many ranges is an immense responsibility and a lot of work.
To assure that trained equipment inspectors and Range officials will be used to run the tournament as smoothly as possible, the host association (OBSV) asked that a special course would be given to train the necessary people.
Martin Koini, one of the IFAA Master Instructors, was approached to organise such a course and compile the necessary training documents.
On 19 and 20 March Martin visited the region and hosted the two courses to some 50+ archers, who will all be committed to various functions during the tournament.
The courses were well received and should improve the performance of the officials.
We thank the archers of the region, the organisers and the OBSV for their commitment to the tournament and suggesting such courses.
The courses will now be presented in their final composition and submitted to the IFAA Council members for their approval.
If successful, such courses will become compulsory for large tournaments and so assist in the improvement of our tournaments.
